Nissan Repair: Skipping?, 2003 nissan altima, nissan altima

Hi....I have a 2003 Nissan Altima with manual transmission.  84K miles.  The last few days I have noticed that when I shift and then drive for about 30-60 seconds...it seems like it catches...or hasn't quite clicked in...or misses?  I'm scared this is transmission?  HELP??

Hi Laurie -

If you could I need more information. It may be because you need a tune up.When was your last tune up? Also, when it "misses" is the engine under load, i.e., going up a hill, accelerating? How does it idle at a stop sign or traffic light, is that rough also?

My first inclination would be to replace the spark plugs, cap and rotor before I condemn the trans. Maybe even the ignition wires also if that has not been replaced.
