Nissan Repair: 98 nissan sentra, nissan sentra, stop lamp

Question
Hi, I have a problem with my car, yesterday the car was fine, and today I try turning the car on, and nothing, no peep. I charged up the battery and noticed that the cars exterior brake lights stayed on. I looked for ways to fix the problem, I tried changing the stop lamp fuse and that wasn't the problem. they stay on anyways. But it seems like the problem is around there, but I don't know what to do, please help

Answer
Hi Anthony

There is a brake switch pad that is located on your brake pedal shaft which the brake switch rests on. What happened is this pad broke off, and consequently does not depress the switch to turn off the brake light when the pedal is released.

Very simple to install, and very inexpensive (costs pennies). Get it at any local auto parts store. Locate the hole where it is installed by following the brake shaft (above the pedal) up towards the top. Once you find it, insert the pad (pointed side first) and press into place.

You should then be good to go!

Hope this helps
