Nissan Repair: Speedometer, nissan king cab, silicone lubricant

Question
My speedometer is inaccurate in my 1990 Nissan King Cab.  I cant find information in Hayes for repair.  Is there a cable I can replace and iff so, Where?

Answer
Hi John -

The cable is removed by accessing behind the instrument panel. Remove the panel, and behind the speedometer there is a clip holding the cable housing. Undo the clip, pull the housing away, and then you can pull the cable out using a long nose plier. Use a silicone lubricant, or graphite. Using grease or WD40 leaves a residue that may give you problems later.

Hope this helps -
