Nissan Repair: Engine light is coming on in my 97 Altima, driveability problems, computer hope

Could low power stirring fluid cause my engine light to come on?  I have checked all the other fluids and they seem to be fine but there is a reservoir next to the coolant and I'm not sure if that for power stirring or not.  In any case that reservoir is empty. Can someone help?

Is that reservoir next to the fuse and relay box? My diagram shows that there is the coolant reservoir, the relay box, and the power steering reservoir.

There is no snesor for the power steering, so it will not illuminate the CEL light. You will probably have to take it to a repair shop and pull the codes out. However, if there are no driveability problems, try restting the light by rmoving the ECM fuse, or disconnecting the battery for about a minute, and reconnecting. This should reboot the computer.
