Nissan Repair: 88 pathfinder, metal surface, distributor cap


Question
my pathfinder died while going down the road and now it will not start it turns
over but will not start Idid get it to start one time then it died agin what it wrong
with it

Hi Karen -

I suspect it could be the ignition module. Try this test - Remove a spark plug boot, insert a screwdriver in it, make sure it has contact with the metal terminal inside. Hold the blade of the screwdriver about 1/4" away from any metal surface of the vehicle, and crank the engine (ensure you are not touching any metal surface). If there is no spark, then I would replace the ignition module, distributor cap and rotor.

If there is spark, look at replacing the fuel pump, or relay.
