Nissan Repair: micra electrical fault, nissan micra, electrical fault

Question
I have an Automatic Nissan Micra (orig from Japan) '96/97.  I recently had a CD player fitted, now all lights (except front headlights) not working.  Have tried fuses, they keep blowing when a new one is put in.

Is this a common fault?  Any experiences with this problem helpful, thankyou.

Answer
Hi Helen -

This is definitely related to the installation of your CD. Any recourse in taking it back to where it was installed? If not, then you must remove each wire that was connected one by one until the fuse does not blow.

I am assuming you are talking about dash board lights not coming on? If so, then probably the CD player is hooked up to that circuit somehow.

The Cd player should have a ground wire that has to be connected to any metal surface. It is usually black. See if you can find it and tell me where it is connected?

Thanks
