QUESTION: When I push the down button for my power window, it goes down about an inch and stops.
After that, there is nothing--no sound or anything.
It goes up fine, but won't go all the way down.
What do you think it could be?

ANSWER: Hi Mike -

Question - When it stops, does it do it abruptly, or does the window kind of slow down and peter out? If you "assist" it by pressing on the top of the window, does it help?

Could be some binding in the track, but get back to me with the answers and i will give you a more accurate diagnosis -

Hi Mike -

Thanks for the info. Looks like you have inteference in the track of the window. To check this, you will need to remove the door panel and access the hardware that way. Follow the track on the window, and pay special attention to the top part. You might even want to reconnect the switch and work the window with the panel open and a flashlight.

There is probably something wedged in there somewhere.
