Nissan Repair: Speakers and Radio, nissan altima, rear speakers

Hi I have a 1994 Nissan Altima and my rear speakers do not work. Is there any way that this could be fixed without buying new ones? and I have the factory radio and sometimes it goes in and out, would you know why it is doing this? thanks!

First you need to see if the speakers are blown or if the radio has a bad channel or two.  Remember that you have left and right and front and back.  If the fronts work properly and you dial in the back and there is nothing it is most probably the radio since speakers usually go out individually and not in pairs.  So, you could get a mobile system out of the house and get a set of wires to go from it to each rear speaker and check them.  If they work you know the radio is defective.  Speakers are generally not repairable so it is just a matter of replacement if it is them.  If you are not into spending the money you could source a set at a wrecking yard.
