Nissan Repair: 2000 Nissan Maxima - power steering hose, banjo bolt, high pressure hose

Question
I need to replace the high pressure hose for the power steering on my 2000 model maxima. I can't determine where the hose connects to the pump. How do I get to it for replacement?

Answer
Philip,

To say this is a pain to replace is an understatement.  There is a clamp that retains the hose at the back of the engine.  There is a banjo bolt on the power steering pump and both of these have to be removed to get the hose off.  This is a couple of hour job with a lot of bad words being spoke.  I just did the 2000 Maxima I own last year.
