Nissan Repair: Gas reading, nissan cars, probablility

Question
I got my gas gauge checked and it was working properly and had a new fuel filter installed with injector cleaning, but when my tank gets to 1/4 my car shuts down or won't start. What could cause this?

Answer
Keith,

Either your gas gauge (Sending Unit) in the tank is defective or the pickup tube is not all the way at the bottom of the tank.  Since most Nissan cars use an in tank pump the probablility is that the sending unit is defective and needs to be replaced.
