Nissan Repair: Intermittent gauge problem, infiniti g20t, fuel needle

Hello Von, I have a 2001 Infiniti G20t w/~70k miles.  Since 30k miles, the needles on the speedometer, odometer, sometimes the fuel needle and the digital mileage readout drops out.  It then fixes itself when the car is restarted. This is intermittent. I called 2 dealerships and both said they cannot fix it unless the problem happens while they have the car.  Any thoughts on what can be causing this?  Thank you.

Check the cluster connection for a good connection.  That is, remove the cluster and clean the contacts where the harness connects with a number 2 pencil eraser by lightly rubbing the connector and the recepticle and blowing off the dust. Reconnect the connector and install the cluster.  If this does not work find a cluster at the wrecking yard as your costs around $300 rebuilt off the internet.  Your choice here.
