Nissan Repair: How To replace Knock sensor., nissan altima, torque settings

Question
Hello,
I am Swapnil Mehta. I have 1997 Nissan Altima automatic transmission. I have done diagnostic check to my car and found that my knock sensor is not working.
Can you please tell me how to replace Knock Sensor from my car.

Answer
Hi Swapnil

The knock sensor is located under hood, center, upper engine area, below center fuel injectors, mounted in cylinder head.

To replace:
Disconnect the knock sensor wiring connector.
Then, unscrew the sensor.
Remove the knock sensor.
Reverse the procedures to install the part.

The knock sensor may also have specific torque settings. Please consult the manual or call the nearest auto store for the information. I tried looking it up for you, but cam up empty.

Hope this helps -
aloha
