Nissan Repair: trying to fix truck, blown head gasket, nissan frontier

well i was going down the highway and didn't realize  my 99  nissan  frontier was  over  heating.so i pulled over and my truck shut off.when i got it towed back to my place i notice the hose to the coolent that goes to the engine was off. so i started my truck  pulled it in the driveway and it worked fine.so i fixed the hose filled it with water and tried to start it again and it wont turn over it makes the noise like it wants to but just wont

Looks like you may have a blown head gasket. The easiest way is if you have a compression tester. Check each cylinder for compression. Any cylinder with below 80PSI would indicate a blown gasket.

Another way you can check (this is for extreme cases) is to remove your radiator cap, fill it to the top and crank the engine. If water spews out, the head gasket has blown.
