Nissan Repair: 2000 Nissan Frontier front brake rotor swap, brake rotor, nissan frontier

Question
Is there an easier way to swap out the front rotors without taking apart the hub?  It looks like the rotors on the 4wd can unbolt on the car, is this true?  Nissan shop manual does not say anything.  I guess they think you already know how since you bought repair manual.  Thanks

Answer
Roger,

No, you have to remove the hub since it is a four wheel drive.  First, the torque memeber has to come off.  This is the part the caliper bolts to.  Then, the hub has to come off and then the rotor has to come off.  It sucks, but that is part of owning a four wheel drive.  It is not that big a deal to change out but is more difficult than lifting off the rotor on a normal car.  Remember how things come a part and lay them out in order and get new bearing grease and you should do fine.
