Nissan Repair: 88 pulsar A/T drive isnt working, transmission shop, master cylinder

my drive gear on my transmission went out it now wont shift gears also my hand break light is on and the hand brake isnt on? im lost it only drives in 1 and 2 drives

First, the parking brake is probably the switch that needs adjustment.  If that is not the problem then the master cylinder is probably in need of replacement.  The transmission is a different story.  If it is doing as you say it is stuck in limp mode and needs to be looked at by a transmission shop.  They will hook it up to a computer and read the codes and let you know why it is stuck.
