Nissan Repair: nissan quest sx vcr sound, nissan quest, pre amp

I just bought a used 2000 nissan quest sx and the I cannot get any sound out of the vcr speaker. The vcr plays tapes just fine, but no sound, any thoughts???

You will have to start backprobing from the VCR to the speakers.  If memory serves me the VCR runs through the car stereo and there is a harness that runs from the VCR to the head unit.  It could have come unplugged.  Otherwise, check the output of the VCR and see if the pre-amp is blown.
