Nissan Repair: ignition swtich, steering column, screws

Question
the key of the ignition broke inside the ignition switch, how can i removed the piece from it? or how can i remove the switch to repair or remove the piece of the key?

Answer
Hi Pedro-

I have no idea of what kind of car you have - but, the ignition switch (if ont eh column) is removed by taking off the screws that hold the housing to the steering column. You get it from the bottom. The housing will break apart and you can access the switch. What you need is the ignition cylinder replaced. Sometimes you can remove the key, but you have to be lucky and patient to fish it out of the lock. I usually use a paper clip and bend a small hook at the end.

Hope this helps -
