Nissan Repair: Stabilizer link, sway bar bushing, nissan xterra

Question
I have an 01 Frontier 2WD reg cab 2.4L 5 speed. I noticed the stabilizer link on the passenger side is no sitting correctly in the rubber bushings(top of link)bolt is tight. I'm going to replace it. Do I do this with the truck jacked up on that side, jacked up both sides, or with the wheels on the ground?

Answer
Rich,

If it is the anti-sway bar bushing you can do it on the ground without jacking up either side.  If you want to jack the truck up do it on both sides equally and then load the lower control arms by putting the tires on ramps or such to load the assembly.  It makes the removal of the bushing easier.  If you are looking at the torsion bar the truck needs to be on a lift and the torsion bar needs to be unloaded as shown in the following link.
