Nissan Repair: 2006 altima rear blinker, blinker light, unfortunate luck

Question
Left side rear turn signal does not work.  When I switch it on from the inside,
it blinks double fast on my dash, but no light is happening outside.  Checked
the bulb, it's filament is intact.  I don't know where to find the fuse for it, or a
flasher unit.  Where are these located, and is it something my dad and I can
fix ourselves? The brake lights are fine on that side, just the little blinker light
does not work.  (Coincidence?...someone vandalized and broke the clear
plastic cover over the blinker light, but no actual outer damage to the red
light casing....is this related at all?  Maybe my blinker has been out for some
time & I just didn't test it until noticing the broken cover....??)  Please help
soon...I have had very unfortunate luck with this car....I'm needing a good
outcome for this little predicament!

Answer
Hi Christine -

Because the light blinks fast, I believe something is wrong with either the bulb, or bulb connection. Sometimes even though the filament seems intact, there is a break. Did you try to replace the bulb anyway?

Second one is, does the turn signal operate on the red lens or do you have an orange lens?

Could be that the damaged lens caused a disconnect somewhere, so if you have any kind of volt meter or light circuit tester, you can probably find it by tracing the socket wires.

If you would like to send me a picture of the socket and lens, I can probably assist you more -

Hope this helps -
