Nissan Repair: Replacing Ext.Door handle drivers side Nissan 1990 D21, door handle, d21

Nissan 1990 PU ext driver's side door handle broken and cannot open door from the outside. The handle is there but whatever it was connected to inside the door to move the latch does not work anymore. Pull on the handle nothing happens. The inside latch/opener works fine.Can I replace the handle and how do I do that? Thanks.

Hi Sharon -

You may access that handle from behind by removing the door panel from the inside. There are a few screws to remove, and then the rest just unsnaps.

Once inside, look for disconnected linkage. If that is not the case then probably the plastic from the handle is broken. The handle should be held with 2 10mm bolts. Replace that and you should be fine -
