Nissan Repair: cleaning MAF, nissan maxima, chevrolet cars

do you have step by step instructions on how to clean my MAF
on 2000 Nissan Maxima?

I thing this is worth a shot to fix the hesitation and loss of power.  I already changed all the coil & spark plugs.

Nissan does not recommend cleaning the MAF.  But, if you like go to the parts store and get a can of MAF cleaner.  Basically, disconnect the battery att he negative terminal and remove the MAF.  Now, hold it electronics plug side up, since you do not want to get the cleaner in he electronics and spray the MAF, in the center, where the air blows through.  Now, keep it in this orientation until the cleaner evaporates and reinstall the MAF and then reconnect the battery.  Good luck and I hope it works for you.  However, it has not worked for me even once on a Nissan.  I have used it successfully on Chevrolet cars that use a Bosch unit with a hot wire.
