Nissan Repair: 2002 nissan altima random dying, fuel pressure gauge, 2002 nissan altima

Question
Today after almost a year of blissfull driving with hardly any complications whatsoever, my 2002 nissan altima started randomly dying. No sputter or warning signes. Just an immediate switch off.
I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I had been on empty for a while and as soon as I filled up as I was driving out off the driveway was when it struck.
Could it be "bad gas" or is it a definate electric or chip problem?

Answer
Ryan,

Could be a cooked fuel pump from being run low on gas.  The pump is cooled by the gas since it is in the tank.  Also, the fuel pump relay could be defective.  If it were me I would get a fuel pressure gauge and an adapter to hook it to the fuel rail.  Then start and run the car.  If the fuel pressure drops when the vehicle dies then you know it is the fuel pump or relay.  If not I would be looking at the mass airflow sensor.
