Nissan Repair: 96 Sentra, throttle position sensor, mass airflow sensor

my '96 sentra slows and the speedo bounces up and down. if i back-off the accelerator sometimes it will begin running again. right before it starts to act up all the lights dim and the radio will begin to fade out.

Check the throttle position sensor and the mass airflow sensor as both of these will cause symptoms you describe.  If tbhe check engine light is on take the car to Autozone or Checker and have a free code reading.  Email me back if there are codes.  otherwise get a Haynes Manual and follow the procedures for checking the TPS and MAF sensors as indicated above.  You will need a volt ohm meter to perform the test.  The book is around $20 bucks as is the volt ohm meter.
