Nissan Repair: 2005 Nissan Maxima, windshield wiper fluid, 2005 nissan maxima

I wrote you before about this issue. To refresh your memory, I was driving down a ramp to merge on the parkway and I heard a little thump. My Check engine, windshield Wiper Fluid and Brake Light Came on. My Speedometer also stopped working suddenly at this moment. My car was still driving. However, my RPM went to 300 and would barely stay between 200-300. Just alittle over 300 RPM. I was able to drive the car home. But, when I parked my car and turned it back on, just my check engine light was on. the rest disappeared. I do notice that when I put my car into drive, I feel a thump. This does not happen all the time but usually in the morning, if the car is not warmed up. My car has 64k miles. I went to Autozone to have the codes check and I got a U1000. I was told this code does not exist. The check engine and brake light has disappeared. The windshield wiper light remains. I have alot of the fluid in my car so I am unsure why this light is on. My car revved once so far and I know this is not a good sign.

Do you have an idea on what issues I should have looked  into? Or should I just go to a transmission shop that can do a diagnosis free?

The U1000 code means that the computer is loosing connection with the rest of the vehicle.  I would check the connector at the computer and disconnect and reconnect it and see how that works.  This would explain all the strange things going on if the ECM lost connection with the rest of the car.
