Nissan Repair: Setting 91 Nissan Sentra timing, nissan sentra, electronic advance

This is the second time I have asked this question on this board..I missed the reply last time...I have a 91 nissan sentra with a 16*** 4 cyl engine.  It is computer controlled with electronic advance.  My book only lists carb./vac advance models.  How do I set timing on this car?

I am assuming you have a timing light -

The setting is 10 degrees BTC.

Hi Bruce -

OK, I was not sure what you were asking. If your car is running and in neutral (set at the proper RPM), the ECU will automatically adjust the timing at the proper setting. When you check it with a timing light, it should just be a back up. My feeling is that all is OK, otherwise you would get a CEL on.
