Nissan Repair: 2001 pathfinder replacement, metric sockets, vicegrips

Question
I need to replace my right rear seat belt. Is this something I can do myself. If I did have a dealer do it any thought of cost. Thanks!

Answer
Philip,

If it were me I would source one from a wrecking yard.  Or, if you want new, courtesynissan.com is a good source.  You can do the job yourself and it is not that difficult if you have metric sockets.  But, I want to say, be sure to keep the seatbelt pulled out from the reel because if it gets sucked in too much it is difficult to get it to unwind as there is a catch.  I use a small pair of vicegrips and a rag to keep it unreeled until I get both ends bolted up.
