Question
QUESTION: Hi.
First of all, thank you so much for doing this for free.
Ok.. I drove my car through the water pool accidently by  chainging the lane to the first. (It was raining yesterday.)
I made a lot of water spalsh all over and under my car. I suspect the water reached the engine. I got the service engine soon light on. And I brought my car to the auto repair and they said my car has two problem which I do not recall exactly. It was something starts with leak, another one was emission. Could you please explain to me what the causes are and how much it costs to fix?

ANSWER: Hi Min -

I would like you to do something for me before we diagnose.

Because you just went through water, the condition that made the light go on, could have fixed itself. Are you experiencing driveability problems? If not, then try resetting the computer:

Remove the negative side of the battery and wait for 30 seconds, then re-attach it. This reboots the on board computer, and if the condition still exists will turn the light on again. If it does, we can go tot he next step. If the light does not go on, then all is good.

Please let me know -

QUESTION: Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
Well, the auto repair worker connected the cable from his comfortable big screen to the underneath of the driver wheel. And it just diagnosed my car, and after he finished, he told me he just removed the service light.
He stated those problems I said earlier above, and he continued if there is no problem driving, do not fix it because nissan has these problems all the time until my next inspection, otherwise it's going to cost me about 700.

Even though there is no problem drving, and also I do not feel any difference, I am still worried.

And I just want you to know I was driving about 40mph when my car just went through the water pool.

Thank you. =D

Answer
Hello Min -

Thanks for the response. I would just leave it as it is for now. There is no driveability issues, so I would continue to use your car just as is. These engine lights rarely mean anything serious anyway.

Not to worry.
