Nissan Repair: electrical, turn signal switch, left turn signal

Question
the brakes lights on my 97 quest won't turn off, even when the vehicle isn't running and the key is pulled out of the ignition. I've also been having trouble with the left turn signal (sometimes I have to pull the signal lever up slightly to avtivate the blinker).

Answer
Scott,

The brake light problem is the brake light switch sticking on.  On the brake pedal under the dash is the brake light switch.  If it is out of adjustment it is just a matter of adjusting the switch to depress all the way when the brake is released.  If that does not work then the switch needs to be replaced.  Second, the turn signal switch needs to be replaced.  rockauto.com or courtesynissan.com are both cheap sources for both parts.  The turn signal switch only takes a phillips screwdriver to change and the wheel does not have to come off.  Just remove the steering column cover and unscrew the turn signal switch and replace it.
