I owen a 4th gen maxima 95. I recently had problems with it starting eventually the starter went up so i replaced it today, now it just turns over and wont start. Seems like no fire, so i cleaned the cam and crank sensors, also checked to see if the fuel pump was pumping it hums when you turn the key? what other poss problems could it be having?

Answer
Robert,

You need to check for fuel pressure to verify you have sufficient fuel pressure to the engine.  You can rent a fuel pressure gauge to see if there is fuel pressure.  The hum back where the tank is good but you still need to know if there is fuel getting to the engine.

For the spark part you need an inductive sensor or an adapter at the spark plug to see if there is spark at the plugs.

Check these first and let me know what you find.
