Nissan Repair: KA24E --- thermosat, Coolant temperature senosr, radiator fans, coolant temperature

Question
Hi calvin,

Yes at anytime when I unplug the connector from Collant Temperature sensor, the radiator fans (two fans) start up immidaitely. and will immediately stop after i plug the connector back to the sensor. So Obviuosly, the radiator fans active if the coolant sensor signal "open", and stop when the sensor signal "Closed". (As I mentioned in previous email I checked the new and the replaced sensor in "cold" satuts with OMHmeter, the reading always is zero)

Yesterday I stopped the enginee when overheat, then immedaitely uppluged the connector, then checked the Sensors with OMH meter again. the reading still is "Zero".

It seems: The sensor should normally is in "Closed", and become "open" when overheat. This can explain why the fans activated when I unplug the connector out.But unfortunately my sensors always stays in "Closed". I am not sure, what is your idea?

And again do you have the details for my sensor. the orginal sensor is A27-00010E made by JEC.

Thanks for your time in advance.

Answer
Hi William -

I am puzzled as to your situation. I really find it difficult to understand that the sensor will normally be in the open position, as it is the first time I heard of it. However, you are correct in your observation by assuming so.

Unfortunately I do not have details or wiring diagram in my bag of tricks here, but I am sure you may get it from a dealer, or on line somewhere. I will also check on my side to see if I can find anything. My email is cjiwash@yahoo.com.

PLease email me your fax number so I can send you something.

Thanks
calvin
