The driver window can move down but not backup and the passeger window can move up and down.If the master switch is the problem, can I replace it without removing the door panel; if not, how do I remove the door panel? Which publisher has the best service manual for Nissaon Quest 1999? Thank you very much for your advice.

Yes, the master control switch can be removed without removal of the door panel.  Simply pop the cover off the screw access hole in the handle cup and remove the screw.  Then pull the cup out and then the trim panel that holds the switches.  Using a small screwdriver press in on the connector release on each connector.  Unscrew the master switch from the trim plate and replace it.  Assembly is reverse of removal.  The best manual is the factory one and you can access it for about $20 bucks from nissantechinfo.com and download the .pdf files.  It takes about an hour to get all the files and that is what the $20 bucks buys you is an hour of access to Nissan's technical site.  Otherwise, a Haynes is a good investment for about $20 bucks too.
