Nissan Repair: Steps for removing Cat Coverter-2001 Nissan Altima, nissan altima, muffler shop

Question
Question -
I have a 2001 Nissan Altima. Diagnostic results show that I need to replace my Catalytic converter. How complicated of a job is it to remove and replace one for my particular make and model of car?

Answer
Fidel,

Pretty simple change out.  All you need to do is follow the exhaust from the engine to the first large thing.  There is an oxygen sensor behind it and a ground wire.  Other than those two things all you have to do it unbolt the old one and replace it with the new one.  You can source one off the internet or take it to a local muffler shop and have yours cut off and a generic one installed.
