Nissan Repair: 2001 nissan sentra gxe 4 cyl 1.8L, radiator hoses, upper radiator hose

My car gets very very hot. There are two radiator hoses. Top radiator hose, small one, gets very hot but lower radiator hose does not get hot.Radiator is very hot. Steam comes out. Also I do not know where thermostat is located.After car cools down I can go only 2 to 3 blocks. Please advice me soon.

Either the thermostat is stuck closed or the waterpump is broken.  As in, the impeller is not spinning.  My first bet is the thermostat since the lower hose is not getting warm.  Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine and you will find the thermostat.  Purchase a Nissan unit as it is best.  Well, that is my experience on thermostats for Nissans.
