Nissan Repair: Overdrive light flashes, overdive, flashing light

Question
My overdrive light flashes many times when I start my truck. I have a 02 Frontier
with the 3.3 V6 2wd crew cab. The truck will go though all the gears but will not
shift into the last gear. It stays in that passing gear. When I turn off my overdive
the RPMs shoot up like they are supose to but when you turn it on it only drops
1 gear not two. I am running over 3000 RPMs at 70 MPH

Answer
Nicholas,

The flashing light means that the transmission has a problem.  If it will not shift into overdrive the transmission will have to be looked at.  The computer is reading a code on the transmission and it could be a servo or the transmission computer itself.
