Nissan Repair: 1990 Nissan Stanza, 1990 nissan stanza, nissan stanza

Question
The timing chain skipped on my 1990 Stanza MT so I parked it for six years before I got a chance to find a used cylinder head at the auto wreckers. Head is back on and engine turns over but no spark, no fuel pump noise, no check enigne light - nothing. ECU seems dead. No leds light when put into diagnostics mode and no blinking of check engine light. Can the ECU go bad just by sitting in the yard? How can I test the ECU to see if it is working or maybe just not getting power? I got another ECU out of a 1990 Stanza (Automatic Transmission) that I believe was functional, but again nothing lights when plugged into my 1990 stanza (Manual transmission). I was hoping to at least get losts of error codes as the ECU version was different, but not even the check engine light comes on. Car has only 112Km so was hoping to use as a winter car. Any suggestions would be greatly appeciaated.

Answer
Brad,

If it were me I would do a complete electrical inspection.  Could be that rodents ate a section of wire.  I have seen that on cars that sit.  Also, check the master fuses and fuse links at the positive cable as well as those under the dash and under the hood.  Seems to me that the ECU is not getting power.  Check these things out and email me back and let me know what you find.
