QUESTION: how can i replace the knock sensor on my 1995 Nissan maxima se with out removing the intake manifold

ANSWER: Jack,

It is remote controlled surgery to get to the knock sensor under the intake.  You get to from the drivers side after taking the air intake assembly off.  Now, look under the intake and you will see how difficult it is to get to.  A ling tool to access the sensor and the crossover hose is in the way on the side as the intake is in the way on the top.  It is really much easier to take the upper plenum off and do it.

QUESTION: What do you mean when you say " A ling tool".  I would think I would use a 3/8 flex socket a 12' extension and
a spring like grabber or a magnet and my figners to remove and install the sensor.  Thank you for your help.

Sorry for the typo as I messed up and should have said a long tool.  It is really a pain to get to without taking the intake off and the tools you say, along with a long wrench, could be used to do the job.  It is interesting to say the least getting the new sensor to thread.
