Nissan Repair: 87 stanza starter, neutral safety switch, clutch pedal

Question
my car only clicks when i turn keys. it starts only when it feels like it. my question is if this is a starter problem, where is the starter located?

Answer
Traque,

The starter is on the bellhousing of the transmission on the back side.  Kind of a pain to get to on your car since the engine was originally designed as a rear wheel drive engine.  But, I think your problem is the neutral safety switch.  Try running the car from park to neutral while turning the key and see if it starts.  If it does then you know the switch is going out.  If yours is a manual bridge the switch on the clutch pedal, under the dash, and see if it starts.  Neutral safety switch is probably the biggest problem with the years and all.  I had an 1987 Stanza and had to replace mine, on the daughter's car.
