Nissan Repair: 94 nissan maxima regarding abs/brakes, nissan maxima, abs brakes

Question
about 9 months ago i had the master cylinder replaced.  I have also had the front brakes done as well. about 6months later when i step on the brake pedal it goes all the way down to the floor i brought them in to a place and they told me  it has something to do with abs leaking and the master cylinder needs to be replaced. (it was a brand new master cylinder that was put in) How can I tell if this car has abs?  I bought this veh used doesn't have the book to it either.  I was told to fix this It would cost me around $3500 I only paid $1800 for the car.  PS: I did not have this place fix the problems.

Answer
Liz,

Run from that shop as they seem to have your wallet in mind and not the repair of your car.  If you have a new master cylinder have the brakes bled with Ford High Performance Brake Fluid.  Get the fluid at the Ford Dealer and ask for it by name as they do not know their good stuff from the blue lable bottle.  Twice the boiling point of regular DOT 3 brake fluid.  Have the brakes flushed and you should be fine.  If not the replacement master cylinder was bad to begin with.
