Nissan Repair: electric window, top of travel, 20 bucks

Question
Hi.  2003 Altima 2.5L.  When putting the window up, when it is closed, the window re-opens itself about an inch.  The only way to keep the window closed is to "lock" the window briefly.  Any idea how to fix this? Thank you.

Answer
Scott,

The window motor is a stepper type and an overload will make it reverse direction.  In my opinion the limits need to be reset.  If you remove the door panel and pull the inspection/reset plug on the lower portion of the door and lower the window and press the reset/learn button and do the same at the top of travel the problem should go away.  The factory service manual describes the process.  nissantechinfo.com is where you go to download the manual for $20 bucks.  The $20 bucks gives you an hour of access.
