Nissan Repair: 97 Maxima Knock Sensor, maxima knock sensor, haynes manual

Question
There's a remote possibility I may need to replace the KS. The Haynes manual says to remove the Upper and possibly the lower intake manifold. Looking at the issue, I think it's possible to remove and replace it with an offset wrench or a bent ratchet wrench. May also need to remove a bracket supporting some piping and lift it out of the way enough to maneuver a wrench. Do you think it's possible?

Answer
Frankie,

I would take the upper intake off as it is really easy and I have never successfully replaced the knock sensor without removing it.  All you need are common metric tools a couple of screwdrivers and a new upper intake gasket and a couple of hours.  It is really an easy replacement so just go for it.  A Haynes Manual is a great investment and the photographs show what you need to look out for.
