Car Alarms: 1999 GMC Jimmy Automate alarm, electronic door locks, keyless entry systems

Question
I have a 1999 GMC Jimmy with an Automate alarm. I bought this truck used in 2000 with no papers on the alarm. I called the Automate alarm phone # on the decal but keep getting transferred to hold. My remotes don't work anymore. The remote functions are unlock, lock, red oval horn button & rear (for hatch window). The FCC # KOBUTIBT & GM/UTA 15732805. I went to a GMC dealer who had the exact remote & it didn't work. The dealer mentioned something about the pins & possibly aftermarket installation. My alarm flashes the lights, sounds the horn, rings the different types of beeping alarm, disables the ignition & security light flashes on my dash. I pulled the fuse for the electronic door locks. But cannot do the same for the courtesy light system. It will only trigger my alarm by reseting. I avoid touching the courtesy light switch. I already have the dome light switch in bypass & I dare not open the glove box with the engine off. Which would trigger the alarm to reset. Can you help me in either finding another workable remote or to disconnect the alarm. I have seen this matching numbered remote online like the dealer had. But afraid to buy for it might not work either. For someday I might have to bring my truck in for service & fear the alarm will be reset by someone accidentally who does not know the temperment of this alarm. The alarm has a spring type valet switch in the glove box which seems to not work for me. Hope this info helps others too. Thanks!

It's a LEGAL agreement to not provide DEI support.
I can get sued for it. What part of that is unclear?

You obviously you don't "get" or, give a care about
my position here.

It's strictly VOLUNTARY!
This means I help when possible.
It's not manditory that I help you at all.

But here I try to help anyway, and guide you
to where you can get information that I am legally
obligated to decline to provide, and there you go
with a bad rating, like I kicked your puppy.

You simply had to slap me on the way out the door.
That's ok, I'm a big boy, & the best
part is I have the answer to your questions
but get to choose who I will & will not provide
support to.

Forget my installation Forum. It won't be a useful
resourse to you. Seek your answers elsewhere.
