Nissan Repair: 2000 maxima gxe hesitation and trans slipping, trouble lights, fuel treatments

Question
I am having issues with hesitation when car is started first time in mourning, it will hesitate for a little bit then take off. Also having issues with trans slipping between 1 and 2 and sometimes at highway speeds when passing gear is kicked in. I have a 103,000 miles, changed plugs, coils and trans filter and fluid about 300 miles ago.  I have no trouble lights lit on dash. Any other suggestions? Thanks

Answer
Brian,

Remember that there is no fuel filter and the only filtration is the sock on the pickup tube of the fuel pump in the tank.  I would go with a fuel additive like Lucas.  Nissan does not recommend fuel treatments.  I can attest to this after putting some high tech fuel treatment in a Nissan I had and melted two injectors and the fuel pump.  I have used Lucas with success and not had bad things happen.  Just enough does the trick with cleaning the injectors and fuel system.  Two bottles for $5 bucks at Autozone or Checker.  Oh, if you changed the plugs I hope you did not use Bosch?  I used them and had to replace them shortly thereafter for the hesitation you describe.  Just a thought.  The transmission is probably going to be the shift computer or a solenoid going bad.  I have a 2000 Maxima and that is what I replaced on mine to correct the skip shifting.
