Nissan Repair: 2004 altima 2.5L trouble code po725, vehicle speed sensor, speedometer cable

Could you please explain what could have cause this code?
The car did have a hic-cup driving at 60mph.

The code means engine speed signal which is probably the vehicle speed sensor is defective.  It is located on the transmission where the speedometer cable used to go.  On yours open the hoold and look down on the drive4r's side by the firewall and you should see it.  Should take a ten millimeter to remove the bolt that holds the retainer.
