Nissan Repair: Headlight problems, nissan pathfinder, headlight switch

QUESTION: I have the same problem with my headlights not turning off that another person here had i tried everything that was told him to try but it did not work. i never messed around with the wiring on it either for something like this to happen. Can anyone help me? It is a 1995 nissan pathfinder xe.

ANSWER: Chris,

Should be the headlight switch being defective.  Basically, the contacts have burnt together and when you turn off the lights they will not go off.  I would replace the headlight switch.

QUESTION: The problem is only with one of the headlights not both. i disconnected the light from the main power as a temporary fix to keep my battery from draining. i left the other light hooked up because it was working fine.

Thanks for the commentary and we would like to know what you discovered to be the problem.  Since there is no relay in the headlight system what caused your headlights to stay on?
