Nissan Repair: Power Shift, nissan d21, torque converter

I have a 1986.5 nissan D21 pickup my power shift does not work  the indicator lights but trans does not shift out of overdrive can you help?

Be sure that your truck is actually going into 4th gear and the torque converter locks up.  The way things are supposed to work is when the overdrive light (off) comes on the truck just runs like a 3 speed automatic.  Now, if you are talking about a power / tow option it will still shift into overdrive and the torque converter will lock up but these things occur at a higher RPM to give you more torque and power.  Email me back about which one you are describing.
