Nissan Repair: 98 nissan maxima airbag light, nissan maxima, scan tool

QUESTION: I have a 98 nissan maxima I bought wrecked and the airbags did not deploy, but the light blinks on and off. I have had other maxima's air bag light come on and stay on when the bags deployed but this one is blinking. I had a person tell me to do a manual reset but how do I do this? Thanks!

There is no manual reset that I am aware of except to use a scan tool to reset the light

The dealership will charge $100 bucks to reset the airbag light.  But, if there is a problem with the airbag circuit, like a defective airbag, they will let you know.  Also, there is the aftermarket shops that will check and reset the light for much less.  Shop around your town for the best price to get your airbag code read and the error corrected and the light reset.
