Nissan Repair: 1994 Altima, fuel pump relay, filter cap

Question
I have a 1994 Altima GLE 2.4L it has only happened 2 times but it cuts off and everything goes dead!!! But restarts in a couple of minutes, but the check engine light does not come on. Took it to the shop no codes, it has 66,000 miles can you give me a idea what is issue with it.

Answer
William,

It is either spark or fuel.  The only way to know what is going on is to check the systems when the vehicle dies.  Now, the basics like a tuneup have been performed?  If not, I would replace the plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, cap and rotor.  My thoughts would lead me to think the fuel pump relay is going out since the age of the vehicle.  That is a common problem on Nissans aver ten years old.  Relay gets hot and cuts power to the fuel pump.  After a couple of minutes the relay cools and the car will start...  Email me back and let me know.
