Nissan Repair: 96 nissan maxima cuts off while driving, nissan maxima, indicator lights

My 96 maxima, hesitates to start and for about two weeks now my check engine light has been on. While driving it will loose power,the gauge thats meaures the rpm starts moving up and down,all my indicator lights come on, then it cuts off. After several tries it will start back up,but it takes alot!then it happens again minutes later! Im need help please. I have been spending so much money on this car.   thank you so much in advance

Go to Autozone or Checker and get the check engine code read and I can help further.  They will bo the code reading for free and recommend what part or item to correct.  You can email me back with what they tell you for confirmation, if you would like.  I think it cutting off while driving is an indication of a fuel pump failing.  But, that is just a guess on my part since I di not have the codes.
