Nissan Repair: 1993 Sentra dashboard, glovebox, steering wheel

Question
Hi, I'm trying to remove the top dashboard to replace (it's badly sun-damaged). But I can't get the whole unit loose! Any advise? I've removed all the plastic around the bottom, and all the bolts I could find. Is there a bolt behind the instrument panel? How do I remove the instrument panel? Thanks!

Answer
Pieter,

Yes, the dash comes out as an assembly.  This means the radio, console and instruments have to come out to access the last of the bolts.  If you already have your new dash it helps in locating where they hide the other bolts.  The instruments come out by first dropping the steering wheel and then taking the screws out of the facia and then the four that hold the cluster in and then you will find more behind it.  The radio is much the same way.  Also, if you have not removed the glovebox there are a few behind it too.  The whole dash comes out and then you replace the dash cover and reinstall it as an assembly.
