Nissan Repair: 99 Nissian Maxima, nissian maxima, crank sensor

Question
QUESTION: Hi I have a 99 Nissian Maxima, The car won t start it turns over but won t run.  It runs off starting Fluid, and It has Spark, The Fuel Pump Works Fine There is plenty of fuel pressure to the fuel rail there is no pulse at the fuel injectors.  I think they work off of a ground signal ....which there is none ...when cranking the engine

ANSWER: Mike,

The cam sensor fires the injectors and if you do not have a signal replace the cam angle sensor.  That would be my first thougth.  But, you can purchase a Haynes Manual with the sensor values and then get a volt / ohm meter to check the sensor before replacement.  There is a remote possibility that the injector fuse is defective or the wiring is compromised.  But, since you say there is nothing look at the fuse first and then the cam position sensor.

QUESTION: Hi...I have Already Replaced Both Cam and Crank Sensors...I checked Resistance In both and The OHMS Were in Range...But I replaced Them AnyWay....I ve Checked For Continuity Between ECM and both Cam Sensor...and Crank Sensor...Both Good...What Tells ECM To Send Injectors Ground Signal.. The injectors are getting power at all times on both wires....The Security Lite Is Not On, So I do Not Believe It is Activated....The Fuel Pump Works Also...Also What would Shut The Injectors OFF?

Answer
Mike,

The injectors are supposed to pulse and not have power all the time the key is on.  The cam position sensor sends the signal to the ECM to ground the injector circuits.  IF you have power all the time expect the ECM to be defective since it is grounding the circuit continuously.  It is designed this way because it is easier to ground a circuit than push power.
